Cic Cymru Academy was founded by husband and wife Ellie and Brendun in late 2026, and we launch in January 2027.
It began when their eldest son turned two and they went looking for a local football class. With few options in their local area, they saw the chance to create a thoughtful first experience of football for very young children across North Wales.
That son is five now, with two younger brothers. Life as a family of five has shown Ellie and Brendun how much young children love to move, play and be cheered on, and why it matters to introduce them to sport early, in a way that feels like fun.
Our why
We’re parents first. Our own three boys are the reason we started, and every session is built around what we’d want for them: a warm, playful first experience of football where they feel safe, welcome and proud of themselves. We want other families to have the class we couldn’t find.
Brendun brings knowledge of football from the inside. A former semi-professional footballer and a UEFA-qualified coach, he now coaches a local under-6 team. He plans every one of our sessions personally, balancing movement, skill development and play, so that each one suits young children and leaves them wanting more.
Our aim is simple: to help more young children enjoy football from a young age, using fun and play to encourage their development. We open in Menai Bridge on 2 January 2027, and families can reserve a place now. Nothing is taken until membership opens on 1 January.
At Cic Cymru Academy, we create engaging, supportive sessions where children can build confidence, explore new skills and, above all, enjoy the game.
